As the Horizon 2020 Urban Health Cluster nears the completion of its collaborative journey, the six projects that make up the Cluster – eMotional Cities, EnlightenMe, HEART, RECETAS, URBANOME, and WELLBASED – are coming together for their Final Meeting under the theme “New evidence for effective urban health policies.”

This half-day event will highlight the key research findings, achievements, and policy contributions of the Cluster, reflecting on four years of collaborative work that addressed the complex health challenges faced by urban populations.

The agenda includes:

  • Opening remarks by representatives from DG RTD and the WHO, including insights from Nathalie Röbbel, Lead for WHO’s Urban Health work.
  • Presentations from Cluster working groups on urban policy integration, EU data spaces, and a White Paper on healthier urban environments.
  • A retrospective overview of the Cluster’s milestones and lessons learned.
  • A session on translating research into action, where each project will share evidence-based policy recommendations, common challenges, and strategies for inclusive and gender-sensitive science communication.
  • The launch of the third Urban Health Cluster policy brief, featuring joint recommendations on people-centred urban health actions, inter-sectorial collaboration, and investment in systems and technologies.
  • A closing panel discussion titled “Shaping Europe’s Urban Health: from Research to Policy to Action,” bringing together voices from science, policy, and civil society.
  • The event will conclude with a forward-looking reflection on the sustainability of the Cluster’s outcomes and opportunities for future collaboration in EU urban health research.
